In December Kids To The Country held a giftmaking and Kwanzaa celebration to give the kids an opportunity to share their hand-made gifts with their families.
KTC served more than 200 kids in 2008. A most successful new development has been the training of counselor-helpers who are KTC alumni from previous years. We want to especially thank the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Sheila Fortune Foundation, the Bay and Paul Foundations, the Nashville Predators Foundation and all of our generous donors for their continued loyal support.
You are cordially invited to join us on Saturday, April 18, 2009, for the Kids To The Country Earth Day celebration at the Carver Food Park, Garden and Compost Site, in the Greenway along I-440 at 10th Avenue and Gale Lane in Nashville from 11:30 until 2:30. This annual event provides an opportunity for the Kids To The Country youth to reunite with each other and reconnect with nature.
KKTC Urban Programs Director and Senior Counselor, Sizwe Herring, leads the Kwanzaa ceremony.
