Water Catchment and Solar Pump for Pueblo Viejo School

Much of the school year falls during the six month dry season, and the Pueblo Viejo garden site is far from a water source.

Plenty Belize Executive Director, Mark Miller, devised a solar-powered pumping system to pump water from a large rain catchment tank below the school roof up to a smaller tank on the roof of the school so water could be gravity fed both to irrigate the garden and flush toilets in the school.
