The Guest Houses

.

At morning light the village begin to come to life, as children leave their homes to fetch water and wood and mothers prepare the day's tortillas over a warm fire. Soon there is a bustle of activity, when the school bell rings and dozens of smiling faces come running to the center of the village to start their day.

The T.E.A. Guesthouse experience is a unique opportunity to see how people have lived together for centuries, simple and pure. Surrounded by the beautiful mountains and along the riverbanks, the Maya continue, planting and harvesting, the cycles of a traditional way of life.

Each guesthouse is located in the center of a traditional village. Bunkbeds with mattresses and all necessary blankets are provided to make your stay as comfortable as possible. In addition, showers and toilet facilities are provided. Accommodations are simple and clean, built of local rainforest hardwoods and covered with a traditional thatch roof.

Our guesthouses are designed to give you and the villagers personal privacy while allowing you to interact with the people and be a part of everyday village life.

Meals and care of the guesthouse are rotated amongst different families in the village so that everyone can benefit from the income it brings.
