1 Day / 1 Night Tour- Medina Bank - Mayan ruin, canoeing and waterfall
Day 1

Get an early bus from Punta Gorda jeading North and get off at Nim Li Punit Mayan ruin at Indian Creek. We can provide a guide to show you round or just wander at your leisure. When you are finished, jump back on a bus and travel the short distance to Medina Bank where we will provide lunch for you. When you've settled in to the guesthouse, let one of our guides take you on a canoeing trip in the Golden Stream Nature Reserve and see adundant wildlife and birds. Stop off at the waterfall on the way back and have a swim before returning to the village for dinner. After dinner, learn crafts from one of the local women before turning in for the night.

Day 2

Catch one of the many buses heading to the north of Belize or back to P.G.

You can also do one night stays in Laguna and San Miguel daily with a short walk to the villages from the main road.


Pueblo Viejo and San Antonio
Day 1
Bus on scheduled days to Pueblo Viejo. After you get settled in the guesthouse, you'll have time to walk down to the falls for a swim and take a walk to one of the caves with a local guide returning back to the village to eat dinner with one of the local families. If you have the energy, learn about the local crafts from one of the TEA women before sleeping in the TEA guesthouse.

Day 2

Breakfast with a local family, then its a short hike down the mountain to Santa Elena Village. A sign along the road will show you the side trails to the Rio Blanco falls and the unrestored temple Uxbenka where you can look around at your leisure. From Santa Elena with a guide you can walk through the rainforest to the remote town of San Jose.

Alternatively, continue your hike down the road through the village of Santa Cruz to the San Antonio Falls and San Antonio Village.Once you arrive and settled in, enjoy a village tour and dinner in San Antonio.

Day 3
Bus back to PG or continue on to one of our other villages and excursions.

 

San Miguel and San Pedro Columbia
Day 1
Take the bus to San Miguel and after you've settled in to the guesthouse allow the locals to take you upstream for a two hour walk to a cave. Once there, you can jump in to one of the locally made dug out canoes and come back down the river to San Miguel. Enjoy having dinner cooked for you before heading off to sleep in the guesthouse.
Day 2
Early rising in the village for breakfast then one of the local women will take you to Lu baan tun, a Mayan ruin where you can look round at your lesure. When you are ready, continue along the road to the San Pedro Columbia Guesthouse, drop your bags and learn some of the local arts and crafts before enjoying the local cuisine.
Day 3
Early rise for the bus back to PG

 

3 Day / 3 Night Village Bus Tour
Day 1
Laguna - Travel by bus 7 days a week. The village is a 20-30 minute hike from the main road. After a short rest getting you set up in the guesthouse, we'll take you on tour around our village and show you the home where you will eat dinner.
Day2
Begin the morning in Laguna with breakfast, then we'll visit the. Aguacalliente Nature Preserve.
After lunch catch the bus to Big Falls and the road to San Miguel Village, situated along the Rio Grande River. It is another 30 minute hike to San Miguel, and the next guest house. Village Tour and dinner.
Day 3
Our guide will lead you to Tiger Cave and the source of the Rio Grande River. Canoe back to town in time for lunch. It's a 3 mile hike down the road to the Mayan temple, Lubaantun. It's only a short walk from there to San Pedro Columbia and your next guesthouse.
Day 4
Catch the bus back to PG and then take an afternoon bus or plane on to your next destination. Stay in one of our guesthouses and spend a day by the sea. Or you can get the next bus to another guest house and natural attraction.

Laguna and Blue Creek Tour - Caving and canoeing
Day 1
Take the local bus up to Laguna village.In the afternoon walk to a beautiful cave, passing through an area well known for it's amazing variety of animal and bird species. Eat dinner with a local family on your return and if you've got the energy learn how to make some of the local arts and crafts from the village women before heading off to bed..

Day 2
Eat breakfast in Laguna before getting a bus to Blue Creek. Spend the morning canoeing down the river where many large Iguanas can be seen. Eat lunch with a family then in the afternoon take a walk to the local cave through the rainforest. On your return, take the unique opportunity to walk through the rainforest canopy with safety harness and get a whole new perspective on things! In the evening have your dinner cooked for you before sleeping well in the TEA guesthouse.
Day 3
Wake up nice and early and take the bus back to PG

Santa Elena and San Jose - Trekking and horseback riding enthusiasts

Day 1

Catch the bus out to Santa Elena and visit one of the areas most beautiful waterfalls in the Rio Blanco Nature Reserve, a short walk from the village, where you can take a swim. As the day cools off, one of the women can give you a tour around the village, a unique insight into the lives of Mayan women. Later you can see how they cook your evening meal as you are invited into their home for dinner.

Day 2

Early breakfast before one of the male guides takes you on the remote jungle trail, through primary rainforest to the village of San Jose. It's a three hour walk if going fast but the guides can show you interesting plants along the way and explain their traditional uses to you. If you don't fancy walking, it may be possible to hire one of the local's horses to get you there instead. When you arrive, you'll be ready for lunch and once you've relaxed, one of the farmers will take you on a short walk to see his milpa and explain to you the traditional farming system used by the Mayans. Dinner will be provided for you before bed.

Day 3

Early rise for the bus back to Punta Gorda.
