KTC Enjoys Kwanzaa Celebration

KIDS TO THE COUNTRY

This year’s KTC Kwanzaa program brought together over 60 people from a variety of programs within the Nashville, TN area (including Centerstone, Sisters, EarthMatters and The Farm School) for a celebration of Kwanzaa in community. Activities included creating unique gifts for family and friends, sharing food together, African drumming and an interactive Kwanzaa presentation, which included an explanation of the seven principles of Kwanzaa:

  1. Unity
  2. Self-Determination
  3. Collective Work and Responsibility
  4. Cooperative Economics
  5. Purpose
  6. Creativity
  7. Faith.

The true magic of the event was the coming together of people of different ages, colors, sizes, shapes, and cultures for a true rainbow celebration of diversity within community. A group this diverse becoming family in four hours gives hope for humanity’s future.
